An in-depth interview with Spielberg taken from a Making of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom book from 1984.
It’s interesting to note Spielberg’s attitude to the film here. He says that Temple of Doom has “more of a careful balance…of horror and comedy” than there was in Raiders of the Lost Ark. He would later argue that the film featured too much horror.
