Light, and particularly sunlight, is a vital visual motif for Spielberg, and I think the end of War Horse is one of his finest uses of it.
War Horse is not only a great film, but a great opportunity to teach the next generation about World War I. To that end, Film Education, a wonderful organisation dedicated, as the name suggests, to the advancement of film-based education, put together this educational resource pack when the film was released in the UK last year.
